The CPA is a scientific approach, to understand the roots of needs and risks in complex contexts and it provides simple and relevant outcomes.
Understand the role of the communities and individuals in relation to problems/data
Analysis of the situation from different perspectives/perceptions
The CPA, by combining primary and secondary data from different sources and cross-checking them both quantitatively and qualitatively, provides balanced results.
Integrated Protection: how to support coherence and complementarity of multiple actors
We investigate and analyse the different power dynamics, both regarding location (community/country/regional level) and stakeholders (targeted population groups (AGD)/duty bearers/other actors)
There are several “layers” of complexity; the Protection Risk Equation is a way to illustrate complexity to design interventions.

CPA measures change over time
The CPA’s strength lies on the possibility to be picked up and continued by any actor in the same area, and ultimately by local actors and communities themselves. Providing measuring of changes over time benefits each actor, and ultimately is coherent to a right-based approach. WeWorld-GVC has designed a specific capacity-building approach for that.
