CPA Pilots: Introducing the MQ to the World Food Program staff in Nicaragua

On September 24th, during the mission of monitoring and capacity development in Central America, the IAIU coordinator presented the Multi-Sector Questionnaire, one of the CPA instruments, to the director and technical staff of the World Food Program of Nicaragua, in coordination with GVC Nicaragua.

On November 21, the results of the pilot implementation of the Multi-Sector Questionnaire carried out in Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador between September and November 2019, were presented during an event organised in Managua, Nicaragua. Representatives of several organisations from Guatemala and Nicaragua attended the ToT: WFP Nicaragua, Action Against Hunger, Mercy Corps, PCI, the Nitlapan Research and Development Institute of the UCA University, PRODESSA, URRACAN and a community representative.

The data analyst of the CPA Unit, explained the process of analysis and evaluation of the implementation during this first phase of experimentation, highlighting the strengths of the methodology, the technical difficulties encountered and emphasizing the importance of the work of contextualization of the methodology currently carried out in each one of the Central American country, in order to ensure the participation and empowerment of local communities in all the steps of the CPA implementation.

Durante la misión de monitoreo y desarrollo de capacidades en Centroamérica, el coordinador de la IAIU presentó el día 24 de septiembre el Cuestionario Multisectorial, uno de los instrumentos de la CPA a la Directora y personal técnico del Word Food Program de Nicaragua, en coordinación con GVC Nicaragua.

El día 21 de noviembre se realizó en Managua, Nicaragua, el evento de presentación y restitución de los resultados  de la implementación pilota del Cuestionario Multisectorial, completada en 3 países del América Central: Nicaragua, Guatemala y El Salvador, entre septiembre y noviembre 2019. Asistieron  representantes de varias organizaciones de Guatemala y Nicaragua que colaboraron en los ToT: WFP Nicaragua, Acción Contra el Hambre, Mercy Corps, PCI, el Instituto de Investigación y Desarrollo Nitlapan de la Universidad UCA, PRODESSA, URRACAN y una representante comunitaria.

El analista de datos de la CPA Unit, devolvió el proceso análisis y evaluación de la implementación de esta primera fase de experimentación, evidenciando las fortalezas de la metodología, las dificultades técnicas encontradas y enfatizando la importancia del trabajo de contextualización de la metodología que se está desarrollando en cada uno de los países centroamericanos, con el fin de asegurar la participación y el empoderamiento de la comunidades locales en todos los pasos de implementación de la CPA.
